Appreciate Intellectual Property and regulatory elements, in addition to requirements, and use/apply them effectively in vehicle/system development. Intellectual property – IP infringement and remedies, IP business fashions, understanding a patent document, patent validity, patent searching, different forms of IP. Technology markets – product lifecycles, commoditisation and value reduction over time, waves of technology read review, recognizing winners, the altering roles of technology and marketing as a product develops. Demonstrate competence in analysing and evaluating the low speed aerodynamic characteristics of consultant vehicles and components using acquired wind tunnel information, knowledge sheets and basic rules.
Establish novel, original, aggressive and sensible car, assembly and system ideas and detailed designs at an advance stage, leading to prototype manufacture. Work effectively in a group, communicate professionally and make choices; take a task of a leader/manager. Demonstrate a important consciousness of the wind tunnel methods used to analyse vehicle aerodynamic issues and apply these methods and concepts to develop answer methods for relevant wind tunnel simulations. Demonstrate an ability to design and/or dimension different Hybrid and Electric Vehicle sub-systems, within the context of vehicle usage, weight, packaging, and range constraints. Demonstrate an understanding of the basics and practical points of vehicle suspension and steering methods and their influence on journey and handling.
